Both doctors thoroughly enjoy working
with all aspects of women's health-- from childhood through puberty, to
childbearing years, and menopausal years. They look at "women's health"
as a function of "family health." They work using a holistic
perspective to uncover imbalances that may be leading to a variety of
symptoms such as PMS, irregular menstruation, depression, infertility,
hot flashes and night sweats, weight gain, fatigue, acne, digestive
disturbances, or hair loss.
Naturopathic doctors are trained to use many available diagnostic
techniques in an attempt to uncover the cause of the presenting
symptoms and then customize treatment plans to each individual.
Specialty labs are utilized for food sensitivity testing, stool
analysis, hormonal assessments, heavy metal testing, and conventional
blood testing. They utilize a Bioimpedance Analyzer (BIA) machine to
assess body composition and to determine the basal metabolic rate
(BMR). Naturopathic doctors offer wellness exams for the entire family.
The doctors refer their
patients to each other for specific treatments, and out of the office
to other health care professionals when appropriate. They have worked
diligently to develop an extensive referral network amongst the
"conventional" health care providers along with "alternative" health
care practitioners.
